This book excites me as a teacher and a mum. I can’t wait to try out rainbow paper with my little learners at home and in the classroom! Having seen Leonie bring science to life practically, I love that I have the opportunity to do the same and actually look like I know what I am doing.

Who would have imagined that there was so much fun to be had, science to be learned and activities to participate in linked to rainbows! This book is an amazing resource filled with so many activities and experiments to stimulate enquiring young minds from early years to school leavers. I really like the way the activities are adaptable for different ages and abilities and offer suggestions on further learning, making them appropriate for schools and also family learning.

Children learn when they are having fun and there’s lots of fun, practical activities and knowledge within these pages, to stimulate curiosity and wonder. Anything that encourages young people to learn about and enjoy STEAM and help inspire future generations of budding scientists, engineers, artists and innovators has to be a good thing.

This is a beautifully presented book to work through or simply dip into.

In this wonderful book art meets science and the poetry of making is celebrated in language that is clear and packed with a powerful practicality that leaps from the page.

Leonie Briggs reminds us that our imaginations are the pots of gold at the end of every rainbow, particularly those rainbows we make ourselves!

This book reminds us that human beings are human doings, are making beings, are joyous beings, and that as humans we have the power to shape and reshape the world. These rainbows will never fade; as Leonie says, you can find the universe in a jar.

Leonie beautifully highlights the ability to blend creativity, science and hands-on learning. The book captures how STEAM subjects can be both engaging and imaginative, making complex concepts accessible through vibrant projects. The focus on rainbows as a tool for scientific exploration adds a sense of wonder, showing how light and colour can inspire curiosity. The writing effectively conveys the book’s mission: to make learning both fun and meaningful.

What a joy this book is. Where is the school that teaches this stuff? So many amazing things to do. I feel like I want to have grandchildren to use this book and bring out the protective sheet. All the activities are explained so well and will be an inspiration to homes and classrooms across the world.
