Mark Creasy, author of Independent Thinking on Primary Teaching

If this book was simply an exploration of the methods and impact of these nine teachers it would be enough, there’s plenty there for teachers with any amount of experience to learn from. However, it is in the final chapter where John sprinkles his own magic dust in not only drawing all of them together, but underpinning their work with his experience and research. Here he identifies nine behaviours from the teachers (adding a tenth in the text) and provides a clear, accessible guide for any teacher to either follow or to use to reflect on their process. If you do, you too could be a truly great primary teacher - if not, it’s your pupils’ loss!
